Drawing is an acquired skill. Anyone willing can learn the basics. All a student will need for this camp is a pencil, a sketchbook, a stomp, an eraser, and the willingness to tap into their artistic abilities.
In this course, we will learn the basics of sketching. We will review how to draw basics shapes and forms while building an understanding of proportions using lines, shapes, tones, and texture. Students will also earn how lines can construct shapes and forms and how values can contrast light and dark to create shadows and reflections.
The course is designed to being experiences that can encourage students to explore techniques and perspectives rather than complete a project. This class aims to give students confidence through practicing and by building up their intuitive muscle power for drawing. We will have a practice warm-up exercise, followed by a draw-along instructional format and daily topic exercise.
