Students will get an idea about- How to pronounce the letters and words.
Identify the all short/long vowels, digraph, blending etc.
1- CVC words
2- Blends ("l", "r", and "s" blends)
3- Digraphs
4- Bringing everything together! We will practice a combination of all the skills we have learned and write sentences.
Students should know the letters in the alphabet, and the sound that each letter makes. In this course, we will learn to blend CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words with short vowel sounds. These include words like cat, mom, dad, and bed. We will focus on one vowel sound in each class session, and will review the sounds and words that we have learned in previous classes. Students will learn through seeing written letters and words, by using body movements to represent sound, and through song. This course is especially helpful for young learners (preschool-Kindergarten) who are on the cusp of beginning to read, or for slightly older students (first grade+) who are struggling to consistently read CVC words.
