Students will get sufficient knowledge of musical notes and rhythm through Hindustani classical music which will be benefitial to them to learn any kind of music. The course is divided into 5 levels. If they are interested in learning core Hindustani classical music, these 5 levels are the base of that.
Level 1 : Introduction to basic musical notes (swar/sur) , Aaroha - avaroha, Various patterns (Alankar) of musical notes (swar). A song which helps to grasp the swar and their combinations. Introduction to listening to the tanpura.
Level 2 : Introduction to the concepts - Saptak, raag, varjya swar, swarmalika/sargamgeet, Bandish. Understanding and Recognising the swar with the help of tanpura. Raag bhoop and Raag durga.
Level 3 : Introduction to the concepts - Shuddha and vikrit (komal and tivra) swar, Taal, matra, aavartan, sam, vibhag, khali, tali.
Raag Khamaj, Raag Bhimpalas
Level 4 : Singing swar in aakar. Voval warmup techniques. Synchronisation of singing in swar and taal. Concept of lakshangeet. More understanding of Raag - Bhoop, Durga, Khamaj and Bhimpalas.
Level 5 : Introduction to the concepts : Thaat, jaati, lay. Raag Des, Raag Kafi, Raag Bageshree.
