Class Experience
The teacher will guide the students in producing tones on the piano! Students will work on recognizing note names, learning which key is which, and playing 5-note patterns. Students may jump in at any time, as the teacher will be continuing to review. This would be a good class to take before private one on one lessons!
A few extra details:
-No prior knowledge of the piano necessary.
-The instructor will teach how to find a note on the piano, and then students will practice locating that note on their own.
-The instructor will teach students what a note on the staff looks like, and then students will practice being able to find that note.(simple note drill).
-The instructor will teach the finger numbers used for playing piano and have students practice finding a key with a certain finger number.
-The instructor will teach students to use all 5 fingers on the keys with proper technique & hand position
-The instructor will teach basic ear training skills such as high vs low, steps vs skips, which will make private one on one lessons more successful if students go that route in the future.
- The instructor will be encouraging to students & will strive to make students excited about learning the piano!
-This is a relatively short class because the instructor strives to get right to the point and packs a lot of details into a short amount of time. If students need more practice, it is recommended they watch the recording again later to practice the material again!
