How does a Multi-Day Course work?

A Multi-Day Course meets multiple times over one or more weeks. Learners join the teacher in live video chat sessions at scheduled times. Outside of these sessions, they can take part in a classroom discussion group and message the teacher directly. Longer courses create more opportunities: real-time activities, engaging projects, and interaction with diverse classmates from other states and countries.

Description

Class Experience

If you’ve ever looked at fine fabrics from India, you’ve probably wondered, as we have, “How do they make these gorgeous patterns?”

The key to the gorgeous patterns on Indian fabrics can be found in small carved wooden blocks that are used to hand-print the fabrics.

After showing students how the fabric is printed in India, the lesson introduces students to printmaking in a two-step process. First students create a background for the print with crayon rubbings and watercolor. Then they carve potato slices to make their own printing blocks. Along the way they learn about value, random and regular patterns, and analogous and complementary colors.

The following acpects will be coverd under the topic:

1. What is block printing ?

2.  Forms of blockprinting  from different states ( will be showcasing different fabrics from different states) and difference between them.

3. Two bolckprinting techniques be coverd pratically .
 a. With blocks
 b.tye and dye techinique

4. How to use vegetables that are there in your kitchen as blocks .
