Learn a different kinds of art forms like clay murals and Devi Saraswati Kalighat pot painting. Ceramic murals or clay projects are truly one of the most cherished of all creative keepsakes in elementary school. And for good reason. Those treasured plaques, handprints, and pumpkins are simply adorable. And they’re fun to do. I’ve never had a child balk at the sight of clay. Instead, most children can’t wait to mold, sculpt and shape their visions into permanent pieces. Now take those clay projects a step farther by creating a beautiful ceramic tile mural.
You can do it.
Making a mural is a great opportunity for learning, especially cooperative learning. Murals aren’t only great for making kids work together. They are also wonderful for long term projects, getting up from the table to learn and encouraging kids to use proper hand form for writing while writing and drawing on vertical surfaces. Each of these mural art projects for kids has other more specific learning goals. They learn shape recognition, counting, and fine motor skills but the emphasis is always on fun.
