During our six weeks together, your child will learn different yoga poses and flow sequences. No prior knowledge of yoga or is necessary. Just a willingness to learn how to become more focused, balanced and relaxed.
Please note: there will be a bit of discussion time at the beginning and end of class, but the actual yoga flow will be focused on allowing the kids to move and experience the yoga (without discussion).
We'll review what yoga means and practice a class together - to include sun salutations, poses and a deep relaxation (savasana). During this class, we will build upon what we practiced in class 1, while adding in a pranayama (breathing) technique designed to calm the nervous system. We will then discuss how that breathing practice felt and ways to work with this at home. We will start class with pranayama and then move into a guided flow yoga classes. We will open with a pranayama, then practice yoga. Finally, we will conclude with a deep relaxation.
We will begin with a warm-up, flexibility, and mobility drills followed by different yoga postures. The kids will learn about breathing techniques and will also be doing small sessions of meditation. The class is going to be interactive with fun elements to keep the kids engaged. Some games will be introduced during the session if required. We will be doing postures together. There will be a little discussion at the beginning or at the end of the class to share views. The kids are going to have fun learning Yoga and its importance in our lives.
