Grab your mixing bowl and join me in the kitchen for baker's secrets, tips, and techniques. Students will learn to bake breads, cookies, cakes, and pies. My classroom has both a cooking school and home cook vibe. Preparation is important. Students can MAXIMIZE their class time by reading the recipes in advance and gathering ingredients before class. Breadmaking and cakemaking take time but it is worth the investment. This ongoing class includes storage and prep skills. For example, in some classes students will prepare a product and given instructions for storage and prepping their own baked good convenience items. A classroom favorite is to make frozen cookie dough balls to be used as needed. Most grocery stores have convenience doughs and frozen baked goods. In this class, students will learn to save time and money by making their own.
